Vehicle Telematics
DriveSimSolutions is a technology provider for vehicle telematics and automated driver coaching.
Our solution centers around the driver and is based on technology developed in the i-DREAMS research project and co-developed by mobility experts from the transportation research institute at the Hasselt University. It aims to educate drivers towards safer driving and stimulate behavioral change. This is achieved by implementing concepts of gamification to increase driver engagement, combined with automated and personalized driver coaching.
Vehicles are equipped with a smart tracker that captures various driving parameters, including GPS position, harsh driving and excessive speed. Optionally, it can be combined with a camera to capture videos of risky events.
Driving parameters are automatically uploaded and processed. Driver coaches or company fleet managers receive access to a dashboard that provides a comprehensive overview of driver trips and safety scores. Automated reports can be generated to allow for targeted driver coaching.
Drivers install a smartphone app where they can review past trips and safety scores. The app is available in English, Dutch, German, Portuguese and Greek. It also serves as a tool for education and engagement by providing targeted tips and gamification elements, including leaderboards and driving goals/badges. When multiple drivers share a vehicle, drivers can automatically be identified by a small keychain beacon.
Driver
Our solution places the driver at the center. We aim to motivate drivers towards safer driving. Our smartphone app acts as a tool for interaction with our platform. Within the app, drivers can revieuw their past trips and scores. Elements of gamification, including leaderboards, goals and badges attempt to optimize driver engagement.
Vehicle
Our technology is compatible with all types of road-vehicles. It includes a smart GPS-tracker which captures vehicle speed, harsh accelerations and GPS position, it can easily be installed in every vehicle. Furthermore, the tracker can easily be expanded with additional sensors, including a camera, trailer detection, fuel consumption data and many more.
Company
We aim to provide companies, fleet managers and driver coaches with an easy, efficient and cost-effective method of tracking driving performance. Our dashboard provide extenstive trip overviews and insight into driving behavior. A comprehensive visualization of performance indicators help to monitor driving performance over time and provides a solution for targeted coaching.
Driven by Research
The telematics solution is based on research performed during the i-DREAMS EU Horizon 2020 research project. During the project, multiple universities and tech companies, including DriveSimSolutions, develop and validate technologies that aim to keep drivers within the boundaries of safe driving.
As a spin-off company, we maintain close ties to the transportation research institute (IMOB) at the Hasselt University. Their mobility experts and researches provide us with valuable input in terms of development, validation and keeping track of the latest trends in the transportation sector.
